Every time I hit one of those expansion joints on Al Khail Road in my 2015 JK I feel like I'm riding a mechanical bull and my coffee has ended up on my shirt more times than I care to admit and I'm finally accepting that the stock shocks are probably long gone and I've been driving around on basically just the springs doing all the work like an absolute fool. A buddy of mine said he got his replaced somewhere in Al Quoz for a decent price and it transformed the ride completely but of course he can't remember the name of the shop and I've been trying to avoid the dealer because they quoted me something that made me laugh out loud in the service advisor's face which was probably rude but I couldn't help it. I was up late scrolling through options and ended up on a page at https://suspensionrepairdubai.ae/jeep-sh... and it actually broke down the difference between the standard replacements and the slightly upgraded ones and now I'm torn because part of me wants to keep it cheap and simple and the other part of me is thinking if I'm already paying for labor I might as well put something slightly better in there since I do go out to the dunes a few times a year and I'd rather not bounce all the way to Fossil Rock and back. Anyone done shocks on a JK recently and can tell me if it's worth the extra few hundred dirhams for the Bilsteins or if the stock replacements are perfectly fine for mostly road driving with the occasional weekend sand session?
