I need some help figuring out what might be wrong with my truck. I have a 2016 GMC Sierra with about 140,000 kilometers on it. I've owned it for three years and it's been very reliable until now. Last week, the check engine light came on, and at the same time, I started hearing a ticking noise coming from the engine. The ticking gets faster when I rev the engine, and it's more noticeable when the engine is cold. The truck still drives fine, no loss of power or anything, but that ticking noise is worrying me. I took it to a local garage and the mechanic said it might be the lifters or maybe an exhaust manifold leak, but he wasn't sure.
